Hot Cross Buns

Delicious Orchards is a part of so many family traditions.  And the Easter season tradition of Hot Cross Buns is no different!

But what’s all the fuss about these classic buns?

They are available from the D.O. scratch bakery during the 40 days leading up to Easter. The dough, which is considered a sweet dough, is made first. Then, the bakers delicately add the raisins and dried fruit (cherry, orange and lemon) and mix the ingredients together gently.  The combination of the sweet dough and the dried fruit pieces surely makes for a deliciously nostalgic and fresh bite. And the sweet icing piped on top is sure to make any skeptic’s tastebuds rejoice!
