Ingredients
Pizza Sauce
- 1 (28 ounce) can tomato puree
- 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
- 3 Tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 tbsp Italian Seasoning
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp cane sugar
- 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
French Bread Pizza
- 1 loaf of French bread or Italian bread
- 8 Tbsp butter, melted
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- 1/4 cup parmesan
- 1 cup pizza sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1-2 tsp freshly chopped basil or topping of choice
Instructions
Pizza Sauce
- In a bowl, mix tomato puree and tomato paste until smooth.
- Add the rest of the ingredients and stir until evenly mixed. Then set aside.
French Bread Pizza
- Preheat oven to 400F.
- Cut loaf of bread in half – lengthwise.
- Lay bread with cut side up on baking sheet
- Brush melted butter all over cut side of bread.
- Sprinkle with parmesan
- Bake in oven for 5 minutes or just until slightly toasty.
- Remove bread from oven.
- Spread pizza sauce evenly over cut sides of bread.
- Sprinkle on the shredded mozzarella cheese and chopped basil or topping of choice.
- Bake pizzas for 10-15 minutes – until cheese is melted and slightly toasted.
