Apple – Pear Cider

  • 4 Bartlett pears (1½ to 2 lb.), stem removed, pitted and sliced into 1/4 inch pieces
  • 1 gala apple, stem removed, pitted and sliced into 1/4 inch pieces
  • 1 navel orange, peeled and cut into wedges
  • 1 TBS ground cinnamon
  • 1 TBS whole cloves
  • 1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 3 cups water
  • 3 cups Delicious Orchards Apple Cider

Add all ingredients to a large pot and stir. Be sure that everything is at least partially submerged in the water/cider. If not, add a little more.

Using medium heat, bring to a simmer. Cover and continue to simmer until the fruit is soft, about one hour.

When cool, strain out the liquid using a sieve or cheesecloth and discard the fruit.

Serve hot or cold. Garnish with cinnamon sticks.
