Macaroons & Applesauce Dessert


  • 1 cup Delicious Orchards macaroons, crushed
  • 2 lbs. apples, washed, seeded and quartered
  • 1 cup almonds, chopped and toasted
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. almond extract
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Dash of vanilla


In a sauce pan, bring water to a boil. Add apples and simmer for 20 minutes. Then, put apples through a sieve or food mill making applesauce. Stir in sugar and extract mixing well. Spread applesauce mixture in bottom of a shallow baking dish. Sprinkle with crushed macaroons and top with almonds. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Serve with whipped cream.

Whipped Cream

Pour the heavy cream into a bowl and add a dash of vanilla whipping until it thickens to whipped cream consistency.
